Sturgis R18 Reverse Trikes might be known worldwide, but not everyone is aware that this beautiful piece of engineering originates from a small town in the north west of the Netherlands. This is where the Sturgis Trike headquarters and production facility is located and this is where it all started.
It started first by helping out friends, but soon after he served a rapid growing network of amazing clients.
About Sturgis
Founder and CEO, Pieter Lammes, worked from age 15 as a metal technician in the automotive repair branch. He became a certified welder and spray painter and has ever since been passionate about motorcycles.
Although he has experience with many motorcycle brands, Honda is the one that was his admiration, as it stands for best quality and innovation. Pieter rides Honda Goldwings since 1991.

7 years later the ongoing enthusiasm made him decide to start a repair shop specialised in this legendary bike. First by helping out friends, but soon after he served a rapid growing network of amazing clients. In 2014 he decided to expand the business by introducing a reversed trike based on a Honda Goldwing GL1800; the R18A. This innovative prototype was so well received that from that moment on the ‘Sturgis Reversed Trike’ was born.

Sturgis is a true family business in where 3 generations team up and are fully committed. Pieter works closely together with his wife Linda. He is responsible for the overall business, the design of the trikes, product engineering and manufacturing. Linda, who is an enthusiast Goldwing rider herself, supports him wherever needed. Next to preparing shipments and arranging supplier and client transport, she has a great sense for simplicity and functionality which are important elements in the development process.
Pieter’s father Henk helps with the assembly of the trike kits. His long lasting experience and eye for detail makes sure all kits are assembled the best way possible. The youngest generation is represented by daughter Debby, who arranges the administration and sets up all the shipping & export paper.

Last but not least their son; also named Sturgis, who helps with the assembly. Next to working in the family business, he works on his own racing career and is starting up an online racing parts business.
To complete our team, we also have some enthusiastic and valuable people working for us, They are part of the manufacturing, like the welding and painting process. They all share our values and aim for perfection. They may not be closely related, but they are nevertheless a part of the family. We work together with a few suppliers and businesses from the area who deliver the best materials and (pre fabricated) parts. We believe it is very important to support your local businesses. This also helps us keeping track of the whole production process and allows us to make quick changes or special production requests on the fly.

As Goldwing and trike enthusiasts, Pieter and Linda can be seen at many meetings throughout Europe and USA. This already started a long time ago. First they rode both individually on a Goldwing, later on they upgraded their bikes with self made side cars that could accommodate their two children. During all these trips they always love to meet new people and share their passion with them.

We are currently working on the conversion of other Honda models, as well as the design of new body styles.

Time doesn’t stand still and this is the same for our trikes and business. As the demand for our Reversed Trike is growing, our company and production expands. We are training new dedicated dealerships worldwide in R18 conversions, so even more people can enjoy our Reversed Trike.
We keep on improving the designs on a daily basis and focus on adding new models to our lineup. It started with the conversion of the Honda Goldwing series, which brought us the R18A, R18B and R18C.
